About the Essence

Do the work of facing the essence through repeated gestures as if performing.

Everything is changing, but there are also things that don't change in the first place. It's the essence. The pursuit of essence is a desire for the source and Soonji(korean traditional pure paper) was chosen to be able to express the original. Just as the invisible is infinite, my consciousness, thoughts, and possibilities are also infinite. The work of melting the visible phenomenon and the invisible essence into the work is a journey to find me.

The grid is the essence of painting, and it borrowed the grid while working on the essence.
By expressing the texture of the resolution of Hanji caused by the drying of the surface by the physical properties of Hanji itself, the surface is an image and an object at the same time. For the physical properties and power of Hanji, and the three-dimensional expression that exceeds the flat limit of Hanji, it does motions of overlapping, removing, and pushing. Attempt painterly practice with a structured and unstructured composition. Sometimes it pursues inherent modern expression with regularity and sometimes freedom.
